Learning from Disney Parks

disneysmmc-welcome-conferenceI'm attending the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World. Today is a day full of learning from some of the park's finest creative minds and other smart people as the hand picked group of attendees also learn from each other. It's a really awesome opportunity that I've followed online for a number of years. I'm honored to be here and can't wait to learn. This conference is a way to help me do a better job here at Born Just Right and at my job as a social media trainer. I love it when all sides of my life can merge like that.Oh, and we're at Walt Disney World. This opportunity offered a discounted rate to stay at an amazing resort - Disney's Beach Club Resort. We have access to the parks and we've already seen some cool stuff. Last night, we were hosted at an event by Disney Citizenship - a division of Disney that is focused on "efforts to promote the happiness and well-being of kids and families by inspiring them to join us in creating a brighter tomorrow." That's pretty great, right? Plus, the citizenship team's huge and awesome dinner included awesome food, dance and a chance to take pictures with some of my favorite Disney characters. I am so dang lucky for this experience. I just wish I could have brought the family along. But instead, you get to join me!I work for a non-profit, membership-based organization that focuses on making a positive impact. It's so cool to see how one of my favorite brands is making an impact in the world of social good. Heck, look at what we do here at Born Just Right: We focus on the good of our families and helping encourage everyone to live a healthy life while educating others that being different is awesome. Some of Disney Citizenship's campaigns include ways our kids can get involved to improve our communities, conserve nature and learn new ways to be active and eat healthy food.I'm excited to learn and grow and will continue to share some of the takeaways I gain from this experience!
