That time I bought a house while I was at Walt Disney World

HousePurchaseDisneyRight before I left to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration (DisneySMMC), Randy and I stumbled into the best house in the whole world. He's wanted to move out of our current house for a long time. I've been standing ground. I didn't want to move. I didn't want to deal with the drama. No no no no. (We're a classic case of Love It or List It.) We have the most wonderful neighborhood and I love our house. But this new house. It's SUCH a cool house. And we figured out a way to put in an offer... The day I got into Orlando for DisneySMMC. I signed the first offer while riding on the Magical Express bus. The couple who owns the house we love countered on our offer that night - while I was at the new Trader Sam's. I stepped out to talk to my husband and consult my Realtor parents and had a chance to watch the Wishes nighttime spectacular fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park from the Polynesian. The next day, I was riding the Great Movie Ride when I signed the sale agreement. Seriously. I signed all the digital signatures needed to buy a house while I was on the ride. Isn't technology awesome?great-movie-purchase-rideFrom that point forward, I was helping Randy manage all the craziness that comes with buying a house and prepping one for sale from Walt Disney World. Seriously. I was attending a really awesome conference while juggling the craziest and emotionally taxing process from very far away from home.I'm not sure how we did it. But the mortgage paperwork is wrapped up, we're finalizing all of the details and our house is prepping for sale. (I know a really wonderful neighborhood to move into if you live in Columbia, Missouri!) But things got very suddenly quiet around here because juggling my travel, a work conference after the Disney conference and getting ready to move is a lot. But you guys, this house is special. I can't wait to share it with you for many years ahead.new-house-purchaseThe kids are excited but I know Jordan is nervous. She's never changed anything about her environment beyond travel. She's only known this house. She's always had her best friends across the street. She will probably have to change elementary schools. This is a huge change for her. For me, it is just a really big 0.9 mile move that takes a lot of juggling. I moved to a new state every two to four years when I was a kid. But this move could have a bigger impact on the kids. I'm hoping all of this will lead to a lot of smiles. There's just a lot of hard work to do first!
