A little arm is perfect for a zombie

Jordan did it! She owned her zombie costume and had so much fun. Her only regret was we didn't have enough time to put on MORE fake blood.It took me an hour to build Jordan's face into a scary zombie. We used a combination of liquid latex and gory tattoos for her face and long arm. I also purchased a super creepy looking wound to add onto her little arm. We had a pre-trick-or-treat party to attend so I only gave us an hour total for her transformation. We could have kept going. Who knows how scary we could have gotten this look.As we drove up to the party (we didn't walk because it was cold and the fake blood was still drying and we didn't want to mess up her coat), Jordan suddenly worried about how some of the little kids might react. She was afraid she might be too scary. (A concern I had shared here on the blog.) I told her it was going to be okay.It turns out, it really was okay. None of the kids at the party broke down into tears. Jordan did end up chasing some kids around in the yard, but for fun. There was a lot of fun for everyone. Yes, Jordan was certainly the creepiest of them all. Once we started trick or treating, Jordan had to put on a coat to avoid frostbite. She was still scary, but a gentle, blue jacked tamed the look... Until Jordan got into character.We only had one house that told Jordan her little arm was a "good trick." They didn't realize Jordan actually has a little arm. But leave it to Jordan. She pulled her arm out to the homeowner and showed the gross fake wound on her arm. We didn't stay long enough for me to see him register the fact that Jordan's arm is just short, no tricks were needed! I'm proud of Jordan for having so much fun as a zombie. She really owned her limb difference for Halloween. I'm also really proud of her for getting almost all of the makeup off all by herself. I love this growing up stuff!Oh! There's a tradition in St. Louis that happens a little less frequent in our town where each trick or treater is asked to tell a joke to get their candy.
