What Happens After Your Kid Goes Viral

Jordan did an interview through a computer where she showed off her glitter-shooting prototype.

This past week was a bit nutty. I was finally home from a long month of travel, the kids had Spring Break and I was working from home when I came down with whatever evil germs the kids gave me. It was a nasty one.But while I was working on important work stuff in between taking ibuprofen to manage a spiking fever and a need to nap, something strange started happening. The article about Jordan's Superhero Cyborg adventure this past January that was featured on Fast Company's website spread like wildfire.Since it happened during Spring Break, I think Jordan was shielded a bit from noticing how far her story was going. Luckily, most of it was on the web and she doesn't spend her time surfing social media or various pop culture websites. But she really likes Kid President. So when his site tweeted about her and posted a link on Facebook, that got her pretty excited. Way more than an article on Fast Company or TODAY.com. But an article in Nerdist? That was cool. Jordan also liked having a chance to talk to journalists and writers. Living with parents who are journalists means she knows many people in the business and is very comfortable with interviews. If this viral moment is like any other viral moment, this will fade and we'll have fun stories about this past week to share for years to come. But that's what viral really is... fleeting. But the difference between this moment and many others? It was a really positive moment to show how a limb difference can be a benefit: It gave kids a chance to learn to take advantage of a non-traditional body. They got to learn about design and use limitless imagination. I'm incredibly thankful Jordan has the chance to be a part of all of this magic. Thanks again to KIDmob and Autodesk for making this happen.Jordan will remain just the same Jordan. She is even more proud of Project Unicorn. She probably has a little more motivation toward her long-time goal of building out our YouTube channel. Who knows. This viral moment has shown us anything is possible!
