Throwback to an epic Disney birthday
Jordan's ninth birthday and our epic trip to Walt Disney World was at the end of December but I figured now was a great time to share her experience and start a weekly Disney Throwback Thursday series. I'm counting down to an amazing opportunity to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration at Walt Disney World next month. I've never been invited to the event before and I'm very excited. I have so many Disney stories stored up, I'm going to share them weekly on Thursdays this month through the first week of May.This past December, we stayed at Art of Animation in a Finding Nemo suite - which was right outside the Big Blue Pool. It's the resort's largest pool on property. It's huge and full of salt water and warm. No eye stinging! Yay! We decided we needed to swim the night before Jordan's birthday and since we had a full park day planned, we let her open gifts at the pool. I had told her for months that the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique was booked and we weren't able to get her a birthday appointment. It's become a tradition since celebrating her birthday at the park every other year starting when she was three years old. Jordan is literally the luckiest kid in the universe. When Jordan opened her new Elsa dress, I surprised her with news that she had an appointment at the boutique. Why all the secrets? Well, I had forgotten I had an appointment and really did call in the Fall to find out the boutique was fully booked. But what I didn't remember is I had booked an appointment back in June and forgot to write it down. At some point, I found notes I had written and called the reservations line to ask if there was some random chance I had booked one. It turns out I really did. Crazy, right?Well, that meant Jordan got to wake up early with us for Early Magic Hours on her ninth birthday to enjoy all kinds of rides before she got a classic princess bun. It's a style she's never done before. Plus, she had a chance to meet the fairy godmother-in-training who did her very first boutique experience in 2008. It's a pretty cool comparison. The day also included getting waves from ALL the characters during the 3:00pm parade and giggling over Prince Charming during a birthday dinner at 1900 Park Fare. We topped off the night with more fun rides and a Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party. Pretty amazing, right? To add in all the fun, we had the four of us along with my brother and parents. Extra time with her Uncle and Grandparents made it an extra special birthday. Are you interested in the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration?
