The overwhelming feeling of traditions

Every week, I'm juggling regular life. It's a combination of child management, a very cool job and travel that happens pretty regularly. I try to make sure I'm getting exercise and when I'm in town, I'm very conscious about making sure our pup gets his exercise. Add in the kids' activities, sometimes having a chance to chat with Randy and the menial stuff of cleaning the house, dishes, clothes and cooking. It's time consuming. We're headed into the holiday season and every year we have a lot of very important things that must happen. It kind of kicks off when I take the kids into the woods and take photos of them with all the fall colors. Last year's pictures were pretty wonderful.leaf kids 2014I haven't had the energy to take those photos this year. I want to. But when the kids start to argue and I haven't even thought about what I'm going to cook for dinner... I skip it for another day. After those pictures, it's Thanksgiving. My parents are visiting our new house for the first time. I'm so excited for that tradition. Except I have chairs that need new upholstery before we can all sit at the dining room table. And our old house hasn't sold so we don't have a kitchen table yet. (It's staging the old kitchen.) I keep thinking about the importance of chairs for Thanksgiving. But I skip it for another day. Then comes the big push: December. That's when we really push Jordan's huge birthday fundraiser for Camp No Limits. We spend the whole month talking about the camp to you in the hopes that we can gather enough donations to send more kids to camp. We have started months before December in years past. But I haven't really dug deep and worked on raising money for our beloved camp. I keep skipping it for another day.Tomorrow needs to be the day. It's time to move forward and get it all done. I just need a jump start. It's going to happen somehow.
