Saying Goodbye to Daddy Junior
Today we're visiting our family in Kentucky to say goodbye to a very special person, Jordan's great-grandpa, Daddy Junior. He was 93 years old when he lost his battle to complications from breaking his hip. I feel incredibly lucky Jordan was able to spend time and absorb his love for eight years. I don't remember any of my great-grandparents. Daddy Junior will always be a part of her memory. His services are today and we will all celebrate a man who was constantly positive and kind. He lost his wife to Alzheimer's five years ago and his daughter two years ago. Somehow, he carried on with grace and a positive spirit. I learned so much about patience and perseverance from him.Today, we will celebrate his life and spend time with family we don't see often enough. Jordan's cousins are here and that is a huge boost to our spirits.Loss is hard and I'm sad Jordan has experienced it so much in her young age. But what is wonderful is knowing we have such a loving family and so many special memories.
