Party time with Nemo!

We held a very successful and super fun fundraiser for Camp No Limits! I'm lucky Born Just Right was able to team up with Special Need Tech to create a super fun Nemo-themed party at our local theater, Goodrich Forum 8. The set up of the room was pretty cool after I discovered Nemo decorations in a discount section of our town's party store. I also found a Nemo beach bucket online to collect donations. I also made a photo album of camp so partygoers could learn more about why the camp experience is so special.Super cute. Seriously. Nemo is adorable. We packed into the party room (it was pretty small considering how many people came to the party) and gave everyone a chance to enjoy snacks, dinner and treats like cupcakes AND ocean jello. We had fabulous raffle items. Most were donated from events and relationships Special Need Tech and Born Just Right have built with brands including Hallmark (we raffled off recordable books) and Imperial Toy (we raffled off Roxx and a Kidz Bop makeup kit). I also was able to work with Lucky Fin Project to make sure we had a great collection of bracelets. We even had a signed copy of Imperfect, the autobiography by Jim Abbott! Right before the party, I learned a very exciting development in our quest to raise money for camp and our Finding Nemo party. The foundation at a local, growing business, Veterans United, decided to donate $1,000 towards Camp No Limits in honor of Born Just Right! That's such a big deal. Plus, we raised an additional $125 during the party. That's pretty remarkable. I want to send a huge thanks to all of the families who attended our fundraiser and to the additional families who donated online in honor of our fundraising party.I especially want to thank Adrienne May for reaching out to me after she saw my posts about this event on social media. Adrienne works for VeteransUnited and encouraged me to apply for a donation from Veterans United Foundation. I'm honored to have this kind of support from my community!I also want to thank Goodrich Theaters for being so helpful in the process of setting up this party. They had a really great person assisting the party and the company's event coordinators in Indiana were really helpful in helping me reserve a group of tickets just in case Nemo led to a sold out theater. (That wasn't the case, but it was great I was able to be prepared.) Plus, we were able to enjoy a group discount on concessions. We had a really great group of kids and I'm so glad we were able to raffle off the toys, games, books and more and we had very few super upset kids. Instead, we have kids who had a lot of fun seeing the movie. (By the way, the 3D is beautiful.) It's so exciting to see how much we (Born Just Right and Special Need Tech) were able to accomplish. Next up for camp fundraising? I'm running in another half marathon in October! If you aren't ready to donate in honor of Finding Nemo, consider donating next month in honor of my race!___________________If you live anywhere near St. Louis, please leave a comment on another blog post by September 18th for a chance to attend a Disney on Ice show and win a Hallmark recordable book.
