Jordan Has A Challenge For You
Jordan and I have talked a lot about Camp No Limits and brainstormed about ways to raise money for other kids to attend camp. Last year, we raised thousands of dollars by running races and holding a fun Finding Nemo movie event. This year, we're planning to run in a 5K together and Jordan hopes to hold another birthday fundraiser. But as we brainstormed yesterday, she decided on a new challenge: To donate her allowance from now until her birthday in December to give to Camp No Limits.Jordan earns $2 every week in honor of being a second grader. She has to clean her room and help around the house. She already has $16 in her "Bank of Mom." By her birthday, she will have saved an additional $26. That means by the end of the year, she plans to donate $42! She has a challenge to other Born Just Right kids... Would you consider donating allowance money to help kids go to camp? If we all gave just little, it can go a long way! $500 helps a kids attend camp in one of its many locations. If a bunch of kids pitch in, think of how many have the chance to attend? We are very lucky to have a county program, Boone County Family Resources, help fun camp for Jordan and I. We do not have to spend as much money out of our own pocket. So we like to pay it forward and help other kids get to camp. We hope to raise at least $3,000 this year... That will send six people to camp. So far, we've raised enough for one person when I ran in a half marathon in Chicago over the summer. Please consider pitching in! Jordan is committed and so am I!
