Celebrating 10 Years with Family and Friends
Jordan is a whole decade old! That's pretty exciting. We didn't hold an official birthday party because Jordan has a big fundraiser she's hoping to plan at a local art store. But we did celebrate with friends and family. The upside of having a birthday after Christmas is her triplet cousins were able to be in town for the holiday. So, that meant they could also help Jordan celebrate.Who needs a big breakfast on your tenth birthday? How about shove in a doughnut and run over to the earliest showing of Star Wars with Rey's hair? Yeah. That was a great way to kick things off. Thanks to super cold and relatively nasty weather, we all piled into a kid play center and invited a few friends to join in on the fun. They got to run around, be silly and drink sugary drinks. For a gathering and not and "official party," I think it was great.Meantime, Jordan's dad was cooking up a huge meal for the family, and I had the world's coolest Star Wars cake for everyone to enjoy. The Millennium Falcon made battle sounds. So. Freaking. Cool. Cake followed with gifts, and that followed up with a couple more hours of playing with the cousins.All-in-all, an awesome birthday... Especially since Born Just Right readers, family and friends kicked in enough donations by the end of Jordan's birthday to send FOUR kids to Camp No Limits. Even better? Before the clock turned midnight on the new year, you all donated enough so we can send FIVE kids to camp! Jordan still has the goal of sending as many kids to camp as her age - so we are halfway there. But we are so excited to have gotten this far. Thank you, everyone! (And thanks to those who have donated into the new year! We're making progress toward our SIXTH camp kid.)
