Born Just Right's 2013 In Review

Wow. I'm not making this up. 2013 was full of wow. Jordan kicked it off with a Disney trip and visit to North Carolina with her triplet cousins. After that she won a big award, traveled to all kinds of super cool places. She got a brand new helper arm and got to be a "city girl" for two weeks in Chicago. She met Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Aimee Mullins and our friends from My Special Hand, Living One Handed, Lucky Fin Project and so many more wonderful limb difference families. I just went through photos from the last year and it really was a remarkable year for our whole family. So before I share our top moments of 2013, I have many photos you can roar through for 15 seconds that shows just about all of the biggest and best moments of 2013.

Let's take a closer look at our top five moments:Winning an Inspiration Award - Jordan met Jackie Joyner-Kersee and was awarded our town's Women's Intersport Network Inspiration Award. Jordan spoke on stage and was incredibly grown up at a very official event for a seven-year-old! She was THRILLED to meet Joyner-Kersee.Camp No Limits - The camp is a big deal to Jordan and the rest of our family each and every year. Jordan had so much fun this year and took it upon herself to keep an eye on a couple of the younger kids. She mastered the skill of shoe tying and found all kinds of reasons to giggle.Limb Difference Family Meet Ups - Born Just Right held its biggest and best meet up this summer at the Children's Museum of Chicago. It was remarkable to see how many families could visit with us and have a chance to play with other limb difference kids and their families. We had SO much fun. We also traveled to Cincinnati to attend the Helping Hands Midwest picnic. Wow, it was so great to finally meet people who we had never met in person before!Jordan's Chicago Adventure - The Born Just Right meet up was a part of a big two-week adventure for Jordan and I. We built her most recent helper arm, explored the city and Jordan even got to participate a bit with one of my favorite conferences, BlogHer. We made so many memories together and I know we deepened her love of the Windy City. Some of the simplest moments are the best... Like the one night I took her to the Chicago River and we sat near Michigan Avenue enjoying the view. We also enjoyed an earlier trip to Chicago with Cameron where we packed in an incredible amount of Chicago tourism in one long weekend.Fundraising for Camp No Limits - The end of the year is so exciting for Jordan. Not only does she have Christmas excitement, but her December 29th birthday offers her a whole extra level of excitement. For the last three year, Jordan has also raised money for Camp No Limits during this final week of the year. Once again, so many of you pitched in to make a huge difference for kids to enjoy this special camp. We are only a couple of hundred dollars away from sending a fifth child to camp! Thank you to SO many people who are helping Jordan introduce this special camp to so many great families! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
