Mark it down as another thing Jordan can do... She can swim in a swim meet. Today she and her brother each swam in the 25 meter freestyle in their age division. Jordan had someone stand near her to make sure she was okay - but she tells me the person who helped her out never actually needed to physically help. I'm not too sure about that, but either way, I know Jordan worked very, very hard to accomplish her swim today. She and Cameron are super proud. So... I'd love to share a peek into their swim experience today:
We also learned a couple of things. First, Jordan really doesn't like feeling cold. She's terrible at it and it puts her into a terrible mood. We got to the pool an hour before the meet to do some warm up exercises. The air outside wasn't warm enough for her liking. She has no body fat so she was really cold. She tried to quit swimming three times before the meet actually started. Once she warmed up and I fed her warm dino nuggets, she was back into the excitement and loved the actual race experience. I'll be sure to bring extra thick towels so the kids can dry off and feel warm. I'll also make sure they have awesome snacks to look forward to *after* their swim events.A couple of years ago, I could have never imagined my two kids taking part in today's events. I'm so proud.
