An Artistic Birthday Party
12 kids, 12 blank canvases, lots of paint and noise. What does that create?A winning birthday party.Jordan invited her friends to gather at a local canvas art store where they were tasked with painting a sunset with a sailboat. It was a pretty challenging work of art. But the cool thing is they all did an amazing job. Each art piece had its own twist of personality. I was incredibly impressed. At first, I was worried we could pull this party off. The kids were high energy and loud. I worried the painting teacher wouldn't be able to give out instructions. So I made a deal with the kids. If they were quiet and listened, we'd take noise breaks when they could make any and all noises. So when I gave them the breaks... It was LOUD. Mind-blowing loud. But I guess that means they had fun. And their art work... Well, check it out: I loved the creativity! The kids loved the cupcakes. Plus, we raised another $100 dollars for Camp No Limits! Instead of gifts, Jordan asked for donations. She's thrilled to see the donations continue to rise. Every time I tell her we're closer to sending a NINTH person to camp, she just giggles. We've never raised that much before. And in the end, Jordan and her friends have a fancy, new painting to enjoy. Jordan also decided she needs to return to the art studio for a kid session. She loved the chance to get messy with paint and take home something she created. (She waited an extra day to clean off all the paint - she thought it was so cool to look like a "real" artist.)
